Behind my smile...

This was my first fashion post 7 months ago—I was in DC, along with my sister, her daughters, my niece in law, my son and daughter. We had decided to go as the summer left us devastated by the police killings of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd. We wanted to take a stand and use our voices to bring light to injustice. The day of the march was hot---it had to be at least 90 degrees, we had to stop several times to buy ice cream, more water, sit under trees, use posters as fans, etc. But it did not deter us from getting to the black lives matter plaza, singing and remembering those who marched here before us, who were beaten and ostracized, but continued on. This outfit that I’m wearing was my start in the world of fashion blogging and content creation! I'm so happy that I did as I have had so much joy in creating and sharing my passion. These photos were taken at Navy Yard-- (great place to visit to have amazing food and views, connect and people watch) after the rain and marching, I needed nothing more than my family, good food and a stylish outfit!

We never know when violence may strike or when trauma may ensue, so it's best to get busy living and doing what we love.

I write in remembrance of my sisters and brothers who's lives were cut short and to the elders who paved the way....
