I usually reserve birthday celebrations to others. I would always keep it lowkey, but this year, with so many life changes, I decided that I wanted to celebrate! One of the many blessings I received as a gift, was an all expense paid trip to New Orleans--my daughters are the best!
I consider NOLA my happy place, the culture, music, architecture, art, fashion and of course the food, just feeds my soul. It's where I can escape in my southern ancestral roots and relish in the hospitality and pride that the locals have for their city. I visited David Spielman's art gallery and we had an amazing conversation, he stated that the people of New Orleans "loved their city and loved to share." This meant so much to me as I have been wrestling with the idea of having a place there, to share in the pride and everything I love about NOLA.
I also celebrated by enjoying dinner at Charmaine's, inside the San Francisco Proper Hotel. I enjoyed the yummy food, views and company of family and friends. I created content on Instagram of three looks that I would wear to celebrate for separate occasions--please enjoy!
